Irmi Nursery Lamps
These darling nursery lighting pieces are marked Nursery Plastics, Nursery Originals or Irmi. These were all names that the Irmi Company used on wooden nursery items with an adorable German Erzebirge sensibility from the 1950s to early 1980. They are not only functional, but are artworks, too.
The lamps pictured above are mainly in a primary color scheme and are
well-suited for a baby boy nursery. Themes range from toy soldiers, trains, circus and equestrian. Though all are ideal for a nursery rhyme themed space.

In this second group the color scheme is a bit more delicate and in some cases, decidedly feminine. However, many are also appropriate for little guys too! Humpty-Dumpty and Hey Diddle Diddle, along with the classic "Rock-a-bye Baby" are shown too.

All lamps are vintage pieces, but are in working order. Where necessary the have been rewired. Some have a nightlight and are musical. Irmi lighting is widely sought after and collected. Additionally, there are matching crib mobiles, separate nightlights, and light switch plates available.
Since these are vintage, it is not unusual for the original shades to not be included since most of them have not survived intact. Suitable replacements are easily found or I can create a special one for the lamp of your choice.
The Irmi Nursery Lamp can be used well beyond the infant stage and translates wonderfully to a toddler room. Prices for the pieces will range from $40.00 to $75.00 for the more rare and elaborate fixtures.
